Admission to the NICU
Newborns are admitted to the NICU based on clinical assessment at or shortly after birth.
- Our maternity and paediatric teams assess the newborn immediately after delivery.
- If NICU care is needed, the baby is transferred and stabilised by our neonatal team.
- Parents are kept informed and involved throughout the baby's stay.
Yes, parents are supported to visit and bond with their baby, guided by our neonatal nursing team to protect fragile newborns.
